Broward County, Florida wanted to invest in a new recreation facility that would improve the quality of life for its residents but also increase tourism visitation. Crane Associates conducted a deep dive into market supply and demands for tourism and recreation facilities and identified a market niche for the County to pursue. We then completed a business model, a 10-year financial forecast, and development proforma on a $27.5-million investment in a sports and entertainment facility. The study also included an economic impact analysis using a dynamic REDYN Input-Output model to determine the return on investment to the taxpayers if they built this public facility.
