United National Development Program and National Government of Papua New Guinea

Lead Consultant (team of 4) responsible for overall project:  Completed a detailed feasibility analysis of establishing an internationally recognized eco-tourism market.  Work involved 9-months of primary data collection, site visits, interviews with national and local tourism providers, an assessment of physical infrastructure and institutional capacity, and a demand analysis of the international tourism markets.   Based on the analysis, the plan recommends 10 years of development strategies (long and short term) to attract key tourism markets. Plan has been approved by the National Government of Papua New Guinea and in now a guide to implement key strategies including infrastructure changes, hospitality training, marketing, and eco-tourism product development.
